Past Program 2021

H-Social Creator

Due to the rising scale of the Program, the 3rd edition of H-Social Creator saw a mixed push approach which included reaching the target students digitally and through LIVE campus interactions. Over 3 Lac senior students were reached and nearly 530 eligible BIG ideas were received virtually from almost 160 educational institutions across the length and breadth of the country. 

An increased number of IITs, NITs, IIMs, and many prominent Government and Private Technical, Management, Social, and Healthcare institutions were represented by some of the greatest minds of India. 

Two Zonal semi-finals were introduced, and the number of eminent Jury members and Mentors also multiplied in this edition. 

A total of 30 Intellectuals, Stalwarts, and Industry Leaders were brought on board, having years of experience and expertise in Road Safety, Healthcare, Environment, IT, Technology, Robotics, and Sustainability. These experts helped mentor and select the top 10 finalists based on the criteria of innovation, feasibility, scale and, more importantly, the social impact on society.

Mr. Ayush Kale from IIT, Mumbai, for his idea, ‘Anti Road Intrusion System’ and Mr. Manobala S & Manoj M from SIT, Madurai, for their idea ‘Wearable Prenatal Monitoring Device’ won the H-Social Creators of the Year 2021.

    A Chemical Engineer with 35+ years’ experience of which more than 20 years have been in managing the India business of one of the world’s leading sustainability consulting firms engaged in providing Environmental, Social, Health & Safety, Risk and Climate Change Services.

  • Dr. Nishant Tikekar

    At DSSE and BETIC, IIT Bombay, he works with engineers and professionals to develop biomedical products, draft policy, determines systemic processes, quality and and execute activities to drive growth and progress. He is also involved in teaching and guiding technology entrepreneurs at DSSE.

    He graduated in Metallurgical Engineering from VNIT Nagpur in 1999; followed by Masters and PhD from the University of Utah, USA in 2007. His thesis was published as a book by Lambert, and also led to a commercial product – dual-layered boride coated titanium orthopedic implant – licensed to a US company (Ortho Development Corporation). After which, he worked at Ohio State University on a joint project with University of Iowa to determine the root causes of failures of explanted hip joints, funded by NIH (National Institute of Health, USA). Dr. Nishant was also involved in silicone-nitride based spinal implants developed by him which has received FDA approvals, launched in market, and generated millions of dollars savings & revenue. At BETIC, IIT Bombay; Dr. Nishant was leading an interdisciplinary group of innovators developing the technology and business model to design, fabricate and deliver customer-specific orthopaedic implants.

    He has been a member of several professional societies, published more than 20 peer-reviewed articles in internationally acclaimed journals, and won awards for presentations in conferences.

    Representing the Hyundai Motor India Foundation

    A Mechanical Engineer with a Management Post-Graduate degree, Mr. Krishnan is one of the senior members of Hyundai Motor India's Production team, and is a part of Hyundai Motor Group’s Global professional leadership.

    He has over 30 years of experience in Automotive Manufacturing across a wide spectrum of functions. He has led various departments including Stamping, Welding, Assembly Shop and so on. He currently heads the Power Train Unit, a world-class facility with many industry firsts to its credit.

  • Mr. Atul Sobti

    Mr. Sobti is an alumni of St. Stephens, Delhi and IIM Ahmedabad. His career has been in the private corporate sector, with senior management leadership positions in Hero Honda as Executive Director, Business Operations and Ranbaxy as Managing Director and CEO. He is credited with the distinction of making Hero the world’s no. 1 Two Wheeler company during his tenure.

    Never too late to follow your passion, Mr. Sobti, at 58, took up education again and is now an advocate, a lawyer cum mediator, after completing his LLB from Law faculty, Delhi and undertaking a certified training for mediation.

  • Dr. Mukesh Koshal

    Senior Consultant Radiologist

    He is an MBBS, D.M.R.D and MD (Radiologist) by profession with 30+ years of vast experience as a consultant radiologist attached to various hospitals and diagnostic centres.

    He is a former president of East Delhi Radiologists' Association, former Joint General Secretary of Indian Radiology and Imaging Association and former Vice President of IMA EDB.

  • Mr. Rishi Aurora

    He is a part of the growth platform, the P&L, Solution, Nps and Delivery Assurance of Industry Transformation Units - Enterprise Strategy, Customer Transformation Services, Talent Transformation Services and Finance & Supply Chain Transformation Services.

    Over the last 20 years Mr. Aurora has led consulting driven and technology enabled change across india. He has been involved in driving transformation for his clients at various points of inflection in the industry from core banking transformation, from legacy systems across banks in India to driving today's digital solutions underpinned by decoupling of core strategy and setting up of new banks including market entry strategy, product and process design as well as technology architecture and management and implementation of technology systems.

    Prior to joining Accenture, he held Account Management/Sales and leadership positions in Indian technology organizations ie (Wipro 2001-2009) and erstwhile CMC (now TCS) from 1999-2001. He has a Masters degree in Marketing and a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Computers. (University of Mumbai).

  • Mr. Santha Kumar V

    Azim Premji University

    While working as a civil engineer on a non-governmental initiative to plan watershed management in a village in Kerala in the late eighties, Mr. Santhakumar felt the need for a social science education. It led him to pursue Masters and Doctoral degrees in Social Science from IIT Chennai, followed by Post-Doctoral Fellowships at the Wageningen Agricultural University (Netherlands) and Vanderbilt University (USA).

    He has been on the faculty of the Centre for Development Studies (Trivandrum) from 1996. He has used neoclassical economics in analyzing and designing institutions and mechanisms of governance. He has also worked on the economics of conserving environment and natural resources. However, his current interest is on the inter-linkages between development and education, and the ways of shortening the ‘distance’ between population groups so as to mitigate the ‘development differences’ between them.

    Mr. Santhakumar has worked on a number of consultant assignments and/or research projects funded by the Asian Development Bank, World Bank, UNEP, UNDP, Azim Premji Foundation and CIDA across India, Cambodia, Tajikistan, China, Palestine, Laos, Bangladesh, Brazil and Indonesia and on regional and global issues.

    Has been a pan-asia business leader, marketer and strategist with a proven track record of creating compelling visions and driving business performance across the Consumer, Telecom & Technology domains. He has run P&L's and driven positive commercial outcomes in global companies - HP, Tata Telecom, Motorola and Pepsico.

    His specialties besides building powerful brands are:

    • He is a technology thought leader with substantiative experience in channel management and building distribution and operating in matrix environments fostering cross cultural collaborations.
    • He has an expertise in transforming insights into action; moulding individual contributors into capable winning teams, business strategy and ideas into growth, with flawless execution.
    • He has worked across B2C, B2B and B2G- government domains. Currently, he is also a passionate start-up investor, incubator and new generation market developer.
  • Mr. Vineet Jain

    CFO - India, Pricing Director - APAC Region - Medtronic

    Medtronic is a global leader in medical technology, services, and solutions.

    At medtronic, Mr. Jain leads the Finance, IT, Sourcing, and Facilities team both for commercial organization and MEIC R&D center in India. Vineet works closely with various industry bodies, USIBC, MTAI and Indian regulator NPPA to take healthcare further together.

    He is also an avid angel investor with a keen eye on start-ups in healthcare and technology. He is a gold member of Inflection Point Ventures (IPV), an angel investing network.

  • Mr. Amit Tripathi - Managing Ideator, IdeateLabs

    IdeateLabs has a team strength of over 200 professionals and works with more than 60 Brands across sectors. He is also an active Mentor and an Angel Investor, with a penchant for identifying ideas and making them scale.

  • Mr. Deepangshu Dev Sarmah - Editor, Mobility Outlook

    He is leading the creation of a new-age B2B media portfolio at India's largest auto media vehicle, Carwale

    A keen planner and strategist with proven skills in conceptualising, managing and executing new projects and products, with over 20 years of rich experience in media, 18+ years as an automotive journalist and 13+ years as an editor of two leading automotive magazines in India - Auto Tech Review and Auto Monitor and Founder of India's first automotive technology magazine.

  • Ms. Rashmi Dharmadhikari - Director and CEO, Metwiz Materials Pvt. Ltd.

    Rashmi is a master of science and physics major, an IIT Kharagpur alumni with an M. Tech in solid state technology. She has around 15 years of experience in the field of RandD, QA, Manufacturing and Entrepreneurship.

  • Mr. Sandeep Kumar – Asst. Professor, IIT Bombay

    He is a P.HD. from Indian Institute of Science (IISC), Bangalore, B.Tech. (mechanical engineering), National Institute of Technology (NIT) Silchar, Assam. His research interests are : biomass gasification, solid combustion, alternate fuels in IC engines, solid waste management and renewable energy systems.

  • Mr. Kapil Mandawewala – Founder and CEO, Kitchen Gardens

    Kapil studied management of information systems and finance from the University of Texas at Austin. He has worked for Deloitte consulting in San Francisco as a senior consultant before relocating to Gujarat to start organic farming at his 22-acre farmland. Kapil has trained in greenhouse cultivation from the horticulture training centre. He has created more than 500 edible gardens and manages 15 farms in and around Delhi with his team.

    He is a social entrepreneur, clean air warrior, committed to make this world cleaner, greener and sustainable. His present focus is on providing a one stop solution for all Solar PV stake holders that-helps home owners, entrepreneurs and businesses to reduce their power bills substantially.

  • Mr. Vikesh "Vik" Sharma - Founder and Managing Director, Powermitra Cleantech Pvt. Ltd.

    He is presently with Flame University as an Associate Professor of Entrepreneurship. His last assignment was with IIT Mumbai as Head - Ideas Program where he set up programs to support the entrepreneurial journey from ideation to startup. He led the 3D printing initiative at Reliance Industries. He is a PHD. Chemical Engg. from Brown University, USA.

    An immaculate planner and extremely result oriented professional, Amit specializes in start-ups, digital consumer media, online marketing, community building, automotive research and consulting, road-testing of vehicles, content development, web technologies and online content monetization.

  • Mr. Venkataramanan B - HOD Specification Control for Domestic and Exports, HMIL

    He has been associated with HMIL since 1998. He is PG in business administration and a mechanical engineering graduate. He has worked across different functions like materials management, import management, production control and recently at spec control.

  • Mr. Rajkumar B - HOD Assembly, HMIL

    He is a Bachelor in Mechanical Engineering and has an overall experience of 18+ years with special interest in Smart Factory 4.0 and the connected shop floor. He has initiated many digitalization projects which includes DWIS (digital work information systems), virtual reality training, AMS (assembly management system) which integrates all the operations of assembly shop in one platform, SIAT systems (digital operator assist systems) to assist the operators, smart sensors and vision systems.

  • Mr. Rajesh P - HOD, HMIL

    He comes with a B. Tech in Mechanical and M. Tech in design. He has initiated IIOT projects which includes digital dashboard systems, live safe systems, SIAT systems, vision systems, smart facilities to improve REBA score, smart sensors and handling of new projects.

  • Mr. Anna Arivan - HOD Engine Production, HMIL

    He is an engineer with 30+ years of rich experience in quality management and manufacturing management of auto and auto ancillary industries. He is a dynamic personality with technical expertise in key production and manufacturing process. Besides being an MBA and a Graduate in Engineering from Indian Institute of Industrial Engineering, he is pursuing his doctorate in HRM

  • Mr. Maneesh Kumar Srivastava – HOD Product Innovation and Development, HMIL

    He is a B. Tech in Mechanical Engineering and PGDBA in operations management and supervision. He brings diverse experience working in product planning, product research, technology and innovation and R&D in automobiles sector.

  • Mr. Tarun Jain - HOD Premium Channel Strategy, HMIL

    Head of department, sales innovation and strategy group, he is primarily responsible for framing sales strategies (short and long term) and evaluating sales promotional schemes for achieving the business goals of Hyundai Motor India Ltd. He is an MBA from Indian Institute of Finance.

Regulations of Participation in H SOCIAL CREATOR (HSC) 2021

General principles

1. Definitions

  • a. The Event - The [HSC 2021] event is being organised FROM NOV 2021. Due to Covid 19, this event is being promoted online and will also reach out via some of the leading colleges for live engagement where possible

  • b. Organizer - [ASSETZ SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY ASSOCIATION], having its office registered in (B-3104, Skyon, Sector 60, Gurgaon 122011).

  • c. Registration system, hereinafter referred to as the System - An Internet application, owned by [HYUNDAI MOTOR INDIA FOUNDATION], which enables the supporting of the registering process for participants of the event.

  • d. User - Every person that uses the System to register for the event.

  • e. Participant - Natural persons, who are ATLEAST 16 years old, residents of India and have full capacity to perform acts in law, as well as legal persons and organisational units that do not have legal personality, but which are able to acquire rights and assume obligations in their own name, and which used the System to correctly register for the event, until March 2022

2. Additional provisions and information

  • a. The official event registration website is: hsocialcreator.in

  • c. Registration system, hereinafter referred to as the System - An Internet application, owned by [HYUNDAI MOTOR INDIA FOUNDATION], which enables the supporting of the registering process for participants of the event.

  • d. User - Every person that uses the System to register for the event.

  • e. Participant - Natural persons, who are ATLEAST 16 years old, residents of India and have full capacity to perform acts in law, as well as legal persons and organisational units that do not have legal personality, but which are able to acquire rights and assume obligations in their own name, and which used the System to correctly register for the event, until March 2022

Terms and conditions of participation

1. To participate in the event Participants must:

  • a. Register for the event, which can be done exclusively via an online form available at the website or via a video / word document uploaded via whatsapp

  • b. The Organiser reserves the right to modify the agenda for reasons beyond its control. The Organiser shall not be held liable in any way for damages vis-à-vis the Participants in such event.

  • c. The decision of any and all jury members either individually or collectively or both shall be final and binding on all participants.

2. The Organiser reserves the right to alter the event date for reasons beyond its control. In such event, Participants shall have a right to cancel their participation. The Organiser shall not be responsible for covering any additional expenses of the Participants made in association with the event.

Online event registration

1. Participants can only register for the event via an online form available at the address hsocialcreator.in or via a video / word document uploaded via whatsapp

2. The event shall be open for registration from November 23rd, 2021 until the last available place has been booked, but in any case no longer than until January 27th, 2022.

3. During their registration process, participants must fill all fields marked (*).

4. Participants thereby guarantee that all the details filled in is correct.

5. When the registration form has been filled in and the data confirmed the system sends a message to the email address provided in the form, thus confirming the registration.

Permission to use image

1. During the event, the Organiser may arrange photo sessions and may film the course of the event for the purposes of broadcasting in the media (TV, radio, Internet, press) or for the purposes of documentation, marketing, or advertising for the Organiser or other parties named by the Organiser. By participating in the event, Participants give their implicit permission for the recording, use any/and/or all material dissemination by the Organiser and/or parties related to it, of each Participant’s image, voice, expression in any promotional and marketing materials without limitation of time or territory.

2. This permission means specifically that photo, video and audio recordings taken during the event may be placed on the event website or another website managed by the Organiser, as well as used in marketing materials, including by dissemination in audio or video formats. The Participants hereby wave any claims (existing or future), including for compensation from the Organiser for such use of their image, voice or expression for the purposes defined hereunder.

Final provisions

1. The Organizer shall act as the administrator of personal data of the Participants

2. Personal data of the Participants collected by the Organizer from the event participation form shall be processed for the event organisation purposes in accordance with the Regulations.

3. Without their knowledge and consent, personal data of the Participant of the event shall not be transferred to any other data administrators.

4. The disclosure of personal data shall be voluntary and the Participants have a right to access and modify their personal data.

5. The Organizer reserves the right to use the email address specified when registering for the event to send notifications to Participants of the event, including about changes in the event programme or the Regulations

6. The Organiser reserves the right to make changes in the Regulations. Upon an announcement by the Organiser of any changes to the Regulations, each Participant registered for the event should immediately read such changes. Participants who do not accept any of the changes should notify of their position to the Organiser in writing via electronic channels at The notification should reach the Organiser within 3 days from the entering into force of such changed Regulations in failure of which the Organiser shall regard the changed Regulations to have been fully accepted by the Participants.

8. Any disputes arising in relation to the event participation shall be decided by courts with jurisdiction for the Organiser.

9. The Organisers shall not be liable whatsoever for the Participants property that may be lost, destroyed or stolen during the event
